Phd's and Contradictory Stupidity

So let me see if I have this right, the theory behind about 100 college presidents who’ve signed the “Choose Responsibility” petition to lower the drinking age to 18 again is that there is too much problem drinking on campus??
Not being college educated I kinda have to work things out in my head. They state that the current drinking age has “not resulted in a significant constructive behavioral change among our students” and created “a culture of dangerous, clandestine ‘binge-drinking’ often conducted off-campus.”

Is there another prohibited type of behavior on our college campuses that may also result in clandestine behavior that is detrimental to the students on campus? How about the whole “gun-free” zones? College campuses ban the legal carrying of firearms for law abiding students and suddenly, a student breaks the law by bringing a gun on campus and opens fire on unarmed students.

I wonder how many “clandestine” fire-arms are actually being carried on campus in those “gun-free” zones? If it’s anything like Puerto Rico (which has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country), I bet there’s quite a few. In PR it’s often said, “I’d rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6”. The fact is, criminals have no problems getting firearms and law-abiding citizens want to protect themselves.

This blog is not really about the issue of lowering the drinking age, of which I have my own opinion, or abiding by the Constitution’s 2nd amendment, of which I’m very much in favor. It’s really about the contradictory stupidity of at least 100 of our highly educated college presidents. I’m assuming most of them have Phd attached to their names.
